Natural stone conference room tables, reception desks, countertops, stone coffee bars and quartz or granite tables as accent furniture give any office a dramatic, sleek, professional vibe.
They also last a long time; with proper care, they’ll continue to impress and withstand years of style and trend fluctuations, all while looking beautiful.
Arch City Granite & Marble in St. Louis has more than a decade of expertise in office conference table fabrication and installation.
Quartz or Granite Conference Room Tables
Quartz and granite conference tables are the top choices for the office; although other stones may be used, these provide the best durability and longevity.
If you’re considering natural stone tables for your office, keep the following tips in mind when making your choice.
First, quartz and granite are both excellent choices for stone coffee bars and conference tables, but understand the difference between the two materials:
- Quartz is engineered stone consisting of about 90 percent natural quartz, other minerals, color elements and plastics. It looks like natural stone and can have a wide range of dramatic patterns and colors.
- Granite is a naturally quarried stone that we cut and customize here at our Arch City Granite & Marble plant in St. Louis. We have many granite slabs in a variety of colors and patterns, such as Fusion granite or Mary Blue granite, to create inspiring and impressive conference room tables — each piece looks like a work of art.
Because stone tables are heavy, you need to plan for an appropriate support base to provide stability underneath.
Another important consideration is size.
One granite slab may be enough for some conference room tables, but large granite conference tables may need to have two slabs seamed together.
Making the seam look invisible requires some planning for conference table fabrication.
We recommend using two book-matched granite slabs to create the illusion of one seamless granite conference room table.
Granite Reception Desks
Make an incredible first impression with a quartz or granite reception desk or granite or stone tables as accents in your entry areas.
No matter what your color scheme is now (or if you decide to change it later), granite reception desks stand both the test of time and traffic with a bit of regular maintenance and care.
Consider dramatic Normandy granite or Silver Cloud granite for cooler color schemes; try Magma Gold granite or Golden Crystal granite for warmer color schemes.
We have a wide variety of lighter and darker, cooler or warmer shades that will fit magnificently with any design.
Note: When installing granite reception desks or granite tables, overhangs and edges must have a sufficient support base for stability and safety in high-traffic areas.
Stone Coffee Bars
Stone coffee bars are a classy way to show your employees and visitors some hospitality in your office.
Again, quartz or granite is usually the most durable choice for this high-traffic, “informal conference” area of the office.
Like the conference table, the support base is very important for stability, as is making sure spills get wiped up promptly.
Other than that, stone coffee bars and smaller quartz or granite accent tables make a great place for people to brainstorm, collaborate and relax.
